Country Pub and Restaurant

The Black Horse Inn dates back to the 17th Century and was originally  three cottages built for estate workers. The pub once served Sedgewick Park, a nearby hunting lodge used by Henry VIII.

The pub has blended all the traditional features with a contemporary style to create the most charming of drinking and dining environments. Stone floors, beamed ceilings and open fireplaces fuse with fresh flowers, candles and oak furniture.

During the winter months the open fireplace and the log burner add warmth and an atmosphere of days gone by. In the summer months the garden is in bloom and together with the babbling brook that runs through the grounds, provides the most delightful of backdrops for a lazy afternoon.

The pub has been accredited with a number of awards including: AA Best Country Pub for Food, ‘Times’ Pub of the year Guide, Good Pub Guide ‘Which’, AA pick of Pubs, Good Country Pub Food.
